About Lisa

From a young age Lisa has been involved in sports, including figure skating, soccer, karate and more before she finally fell in love with the sport she hated the most. In 7th grade, Lisa really grew to love running and in high school she knew it would be a long affair. Lisa attended SUNY Cortland, upon graduation, where she competed on XC & T&F for four years, which included competing at the national meet (’08 & ’09), MVP in ’08. College was rough on Lisa as an athlete, but through all tough times come good things. Lisa learned a lot about her determination and herself (go figure, doesn’t everyone?). In 2010, Lisa graduated with a degree in Exercise Science and a published undergraduate thesis on Barefoot vs Shod running.

 

Next Lisa headed to Ithaca College for a Master’s Program in Exercise Science and Sports Studies with a concentration in Human Performance with a focus on Sports Psychology. Lisa has coached at the collegiate level at Ithaca College and Cornell University for a combined 6 years, as well as coached independently for 3 years. Lisa has her Level 1 USATF coaching certification and is a certified ACSM Personal Trainer.

 

Lisa's athletes have PR'ed in everything from the 5k to the marathon and have successfully become an Iron(wo)man. Lisa, herself, has had several races which have been incredibly rewarding yet also frustrating. After her third stress fracture Lisa picked up Triathlon. It's safe to say that Triathlon is Lisa's love affair. Currently, Lisa is focusing on Long Course Triathlons and has already completed numerous 70.3s, 5 Ironman competitions, and the 2016 Boston Marathon.

Through Lisa's coaching, she draw from her own experiences as an athlete (good and bad) and as a coach. Lisa truly values the communication between athlete and coach, after all it's a relationship together! Lisa values being serious about training and goals but also values happiness and wants her athletes to enjoying training. Life's too short to not have fun while training!
